Biography: Eli Elezra
Almost all professional poker players have some amazing story as to how they came to the game, whether it be bred into them at a young age or just by chance that they found out that they have a knack for the game. And Eli Elezra is not an exception to this rule, however, most people find his story to be one of the most entertaining that is out there. Eli was born and grew up in Jerusalem, Israel. When he was a young man he served in the Jerusalem army where he suffered a serious leg injury. Because of this injury, Eli spent many hours watching televised poker games and basically learning the game simply because he had nothing else to do. If it weren’t for this leg injury, he would have never learned about the game or developed such an interest in the game.
However, Eli is more than just a poker player, he is a very accomplished businessman as well, in addition to being a family man. He has many businesses located along the Strip in Las Vegas, which is not cheap real estate by any means. In fact, he owned on of the most technically advanced photo shops on the strip for many years, where his company developed film in just thirty minutes. Which at the time, was the fastest that could ever be found. Aside from this, he has many restraints that are also located on the Strip. So just how does he do at the table?
Unlike other players, he does not own any bracelets yet, but this does not mean that people should discount him just yet. He has been compared to those players that have numerous bracelets to their names, which just goes to show how well of a player most people think that he is. He has been seen in many televised poker specials such as the season two and three of Fox Sports Net Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament, two season of the Game Show Network’s High Stakes Poker, he has also appeared on Israel television as well. He has finished in the cash in eleven games, which is not bad for someone that is considered a newbie to the world of poker, even though he has been playing for ten years now. And most everyone is pointing out that they should keep an eye on this man as he is one that is going to go far in the poker world.
During this time that he is not running his businesses, he is devoted to his family, which consists of his wife and five children. He is a very active father, making breakfast for everyone and making sure that he sits down to meals with his family each night, which just goes to show how good a value his has on family. And he has not forgotten about those that he served with since he recently donated money in order to fix the gymnasium for his old unit. He is a man with many wells and roots that run deep, which is what makes him someone that most people respect.
